Meghan has over a decade of educational consulting experience. Since starting her consulting company in 2019, she has had opportunities to work with schools around the world including Hawaii, California, Missouri, Texas, Connecticut, Wisconsin, New York, Illinois and Eastern Asia. Much of her work in recent years has been focused on literacy growth – specifically looking closely at literacy teaching practices, standards, assessments and curricula.

Before starting her own consulting work in 2019, Meghan worked as a Senior Staff Developer at Columbia University’s Teachers College Reading and Writing Project in New York, New York. There she supported teachers and schools across the world in literacy best practices,  taught  courses for the Teacher’s College Literacy Specialist Program, supervised pre-service teachers and trained incoming staff developers. She led advanced on-site institutes, presented nationally at Heinemann workshop and offered professional development around a variety of current topics.

Meghan began her teaching career as a first-grade teacher in Skokie, Illinois before taking a fifth-grade position in Winnetka, Illinois, both suburbs of Chicago. She holds an M.Ed from Loyola University, Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame.
